Acura MDX vs Lexus RX 350

  • Style and space. The Acura MDX is both wider and longer than the Lexus RX 350. This equals superior passenger seating areas, with more hip room, elbow room, and shoulder room in both the front and backseats of the Acura.
  • Hybrid option. For drivers who like having the option of a fuel-sipping hybrid, only the Acura MDX has that as a choice. The Lexus RX 350 does not have a hybrid option for drivers.
  • Cargo capacity. With the rear seats folded down, the Acura MDX gives drivers 68.4 cubic feet of cargo storage, compared to 56.3 cubic feet in the Lexus

Acura MDX vs Infiniti QX60

  • Trim options. The Infiniti QX60 does have the option of a hybrid motor similar to the Acura MDX. However, that's where Infiniti drivers' range of choices ends. The traditional version is only available in one trim, meaning there is only the choice of a hybrid or traditional Infiniti. The Acura, on the other hand, has multiple trim options and a lot of ways to customize.
  • Power. Even the hybrid Acura MDX offers more horsepower than either the traditional Infiniti QX60 gas or hybrid version. The hybrid Acura earns 321 horsepower, while the traditional gas-powered QX60 gets only 295 horsepower and the hybrid QX60 gets 250 horsepower.
  • Room. The Acura offers a more spacious passenger area, with more shoulder room and hip room than the Infiniti QX60

Acura MDX vs Toyota Highlander

  • More powerful base engine. The base Acura MDX is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower, while the base Toyota Highlander is a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder with just 185 horsepower.
  • Utility. While the top tier levels of both the Acura MDX and the Toyota Highlander have the same exact maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, for drivers who don't want to buy a top model, the base Highlander is weaker than the Acura for towing. In fact, the base model Acura can tow 3,500 pounds, compared to the Toyota Highlander's base model towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.
  • Technology and features. The Acura offers a dual-screen infotainment interface the Toyota doesn't have. Plus, the Acura gives drivers more standard features in the base model, including a sunroof, a three-zone automatic climate control, and power-adjustable driver's seat.

Acura MDX vs Nissan Pathfinder

  • Engines and driving. Both the Acura MDX and the Nissan Pathfinder are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine with similar fuel economy. However, the Acura engine and transmission are a bit more powerful for drivers, offering 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque with a nine-speed automatic transmission, compared to the Nissan's 285 horsepower, 259 pound-feet or torque, and continuously variable automatic transmission.
  • Features. Drivers have to move up trim levels and spend more money in a Nissan Pathfinder to get some of the same teach features Acura drivers get standard, including automatically-dimming rearview mirror, power-operated driver seat, and automatic headlights with automatic high beam control.
  • Interior. The Acura MDX offers luxuriously soft and comfortable seats with cushioning that stays cozy even on long car rides. The Nissan Pathfinder interior, while upgraded from previous generations, still doesn't equal the high-end feel of the Acura MDX.
